28. REMEMBER GOD heals everything.
29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
30. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Hello everyone,
Today was one of those days for that semi annual or so google search on MPD. And pretty much same old words amazingly reworded and restructured the same way. THe following article caught my eye because I can remember a time when there was near no religious group that believed other then the demon story about multiples. Now it seems that it's becoming another one of those things that we are being taught. Sure does crack me up because I knew I was different (didn't quite understand multiple) long before I had any written knowledge of it. So in todays quick search here's a couple different things that I was reading.
THis next one is near and dear. I always get upset inside when someone refers to MPD as Schizophrenia and this is a great way to end that conceptiong.
This condition is not an equivalent for schizophrenia (DSM-IV Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders), as is a common misconception. The term schizophrenia comes from root words for "split mind," but refers more to a fracture in the normal functioning of the brain, than the personality.

The DSM re-dress
There is considerable controversy over the validity of the Multiple personality profile as a diagnosis. Unlike the more empirically verifiable mood and personality disorders, dissociation is primarily subjective for both the patient and the treatment provider. The relationship between dissociation and multiple personality creates conflict regarding the MPD diagnosis. While other disorders require a certain amount of subjective interpretation, those disorders more readily present generally accepted, objective symptoms. The controversial nature of the dissociation hypothesis is shown quite clearly by the manner in which the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has addressed, and re-dressed, the categorization over the years.
The second edition of the DSM referred to this diagnostic profile as Multiple Personality Disorder. The third edition grouped Multiple Personality Disorder in with the other four major Dissociative Disorders. The current edition, the DSM-IV-TR, categorizes the disorder as Dissociative Identity Disorder. The ICD-10 (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems) continues to list the condition as Multiple Personality Disorder.
The MPD/DID epidemic in North America
Paris[15] in a review offered four possible causes for the sudden increase in people diagnosed with MPD/DID:
The result of therapist suggestions to suggestible people, much as Charcot's hysterics acted in accordance with his expectations.
Psychiatrists' past failure to recognise dissociation being redressed by new training and knowledge.
Dissociative phenomena are actually increasing, but this increase only represents a new form of an old and protean entity: "hysteria."
Powerful psychosocial forces are changing the psychological balance of individuals so as to make dissociative experiences more common.
Paris opines that the first possible cause is the most likely.
Other positions
The debate over the validity of this condition, whether as a clinical diagnosis, a symptomatic presentation, a subjective misrepresentation on the part of the patient, or a case of unconscious collusion on the part of the patient and the professional is considerable (see Multiple personality controversy). Unlike other diagnostic categorizations, there is very little in the way of objective, quantifiable evidence for describing the disorder. This makes the disorder itself subjective, as well as its diagnosis.
The main points of disagreement are these:
Whether MPD/DID is a real disorder or just a fad.
If it is real, is the appearance of multiple personalities real or delusional?
If it is real, whether it should it be defined in psychoanalytic terms.
Whether it can, or should, be cured.
Who should primarily define the experience—therapists, or those who believe that they have multiple personalities.
Skeptics claim that people who present with the appearance of alleged multiple personality may have learned to exhibit the symptoms in return for social reinforcement. One case cited as an example for this viewpoint is the "Sybil" case, popularized by the news media. Psychiatrist Herbert Spiegel [citation needed] stated that "Sybil" had been provided with the idea of multiple personalities by her treating psychiatrist, Cornelia Wilbur, to describe states of feeling with which she was unfamiliar.

The final note for today was that I found a support group of sorts on Oprah.com under multiple personalities so stop by there if you can. Still many groups out here supporting others. Join one and share. LJ
Hi Everyone, This following piece is something that I got off one of the groups outside of Lady Jz that I still read when they are active. One of the members of livingmultiple2 at yahoo group posted one day and it is about one of the best ways to explain us. I asked permission to repost it here and I hope you all can enjoy this as much as I had.
Deva wrote in response:
it might also be the case where your playing "old tapes" in your
head. I'll try to explain. It's easier for me to associate it with
my mild issue with being fat and aneroxia. To begin with, my dad
wanted me to be a cheer leader, or something along those lines, and I
didn't get along with people like that. I got along with the freaks,
the punks, the people dressed all in black and had wierd colored hair
and mohawks and things like that.
Anyways, suffice to say, I had my own style which my parents HATED.
Of course, I wanted to please them, mainly b/c bad things would happen if my dad was upset with
me. So I developed this issue of trying to look and
act "perfect" as a presentation, but did what I wanted to while away
from home. That ended up turning into a mild aneroxic eating
disorder. I'll go a few days, or a week without eating, and then
someone inside (mainly Ash) will come out and EAT. So I can't get
away with it, but, I feel like I'm fat and ugly.
Well, I hear the demons voice in my head, and it's not another
persona, it's an abusing voice, I call it my personal demons. This
voice cuts me down and says things to me that not even my worst enemy
would say to my face. If I get a cup of ice cream (as an example) I
would hear the demons voice saying something like "there you go
again, you fucking ugly bitch, eating more sugar and fattening foods,
your so disgusting, no wonder your parents fucking hated you. No one
could ever love you, do you see yourself, how deformed, fat and ugly
you are.
I fucking hate you, I can't even stand you..." and it goes
on and on and on. Now mind you, I usually stay in pretty good
shape. I'm 5'2" and weigh 115 lbs. Many of my friends think I'm
insane b/c i think I'm fat, but to me I am. I want to weigh under a
100 lbs, but I can't get to that weight unless I stop eating, and
others inside won't let that happen. So what did I do? I started
fighting the demon. I told a few people that I trust and love, and that I know loves me too that I have
this problem. They reassure me that this voice that I hear is a huge
fat liar.
One of the best things I ever heard was "would you tell
your child these things?" and I said 'OF COURSE NOT" and this special
friend (who also happens to be my sister who suffers from a severe
case of aneroxia and is now recovered) has told me, then don't listen
to it. She told me to imagine that I have a 5 yr old child with me
at all times, and if this voice says things that you wouldn't say to
a child, then tell it to shut the fuck up and your not going to
listen to it anymore. You have to shut that voice out and tell it to
shut up, go away, what ever you have to do, what ever you have to say
to it to shut it up. It won't ever truly shut up, but once you start
to ignore it, and overcome it, it has no power anymore and you begin
to win the battle. Occasionally I fall back into it, as does my
sister, but we both know how to fight our "demons" now.
The demons voice stems from your original
abusers voice, but it's now manipulated into something worse, and it
poisons your mind, telling you lies upon lies. There is no
bargaining with it, and in the end, if you listen to it, and "feed"
it by doing what it says, it WILL kill you. B/c that's what it
wants, it wants you dead. I hope this makes some kind of sense to
you and not just all blah blah blah. I hope this some how helps you,
and maybe others here. It could be an insider, but it could be the
voice of your own personal "demons" too. I don't mean demon "demon"
like, a ugly looking creature from the pits of hell or anything, I
just use the word demon to describe that it's not "good" nor does it
have a good purpose, and it makes you feel horrible, cutting you up
emotionally inside worse then what your worst enemy could ever do or
say to you. Just know honey that we are here for ya. Please take
good care of yourselves.
If anyone is interested, my sister does a lot to help others who
are currently suffering from aneroxia to heal. She is a published
author and now has too books published about aneroxia. One of them
is fictional, but I couldn't put it down b/c there was so much truth
behind the story, so much I could relate to, and not just b/c it was
my sister. The other is a non fictional book about how to recover
from aneroxia, started with how to begin to fight the demon.
Anyways, if anyone is interested, I can give you her name for you to
look up. She has a myspace page, as well as her own web site. Let
me know, and I'll post her name if others are interested. feel free
to personally email me if you wish.

Deva, wonderfully said, I think that is about the most perfet way
of explaining it if I have ever hear it said. Can I copied this and
put it over in the talk zone. Just made so much sense to me.
Thanks, you guys are just so great being here for each other it
makes my heart happy. LJ
By all means Lady Jz, I'd be honored! In case if you wanted to look more into it, my sister's name is Alissa Hall. Most of everything I explained here about the aneroxia are her ideas and phrases (although none of them are exact) that she has explained or written. So please give proper credit to where credit is due. She is just an incredible person who has been a very big part of my life and I'm honored that this incredible being is also my sister, I truly am. But yes, you may use this info if you'd like, and if you have any further questions or anything I'd be happy to oblige! Take care!
